Bill Fenstermaker Keynote Speaker
for 2012 Gulf Coast Land Institute
Every other year, the LAPL hosts the Gulf Coast Land Institute offering opportunities for continuing education credit and social networking to anyone involved or interested in the land industry. This year, the event will be held Thursday-Friday, Oct. 18-19, at the Hilton Lafayette.
Leading the slate of speakers is local businessman Bill Fenstermaker, who will give the keynote address at the Friday’s closing luncheon. Mr. Fenstermaker is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Fenstermaker, a firm providing professional services in the fields of engineering, survey and mapping, environmental consulting, and advanced technologies. Currently, Fenstermaker has offices in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Shreveport, LA; Houston and San Antonio, TX; and Pennsylvania.
C. H. Fenstermaker & Associates, LLC, was founded by Bill’s father, Charles Howard Fenstermaker, Jr., in 1950. Fenstermaker was the son of another surveyor, C. H. Fenstermaker, Sr., who began surveying in Louisiana in the early 1900s. Bill Fenstermaker joined the family business in 1971. His strong leadership skills soon became evident, and he was appointed President of the firm in 1981. During his tenure as President and CEO of the company, his vision and management paved the way for much diversity and growth. In 2005, Mr. Fenstermaker assumed his current role as Chairman and CEO.
