LAPL Kickoff Party and Membership Drive - Saints vs. Eagles (Updated)

Summer is almost over and football is right around the corner. Your LAPL is starting its own 'season' as well, fresh from the summer break and with a new slate of officers.
We're celebrating by holding a football party at the Bayou Bistro in the Crowne Plaza (the old Hotel Acadiana on Pinhook) on Sunday, September 20, from 11:30 to 4:30. The hotel is closing the Bistro for us, and we'll have the Saints (at Philadelphia) game on, along with other games, on multiple televisions. Food and beverages will be provided, and all attendees will get free squares on several football pools.
We'll be set up to accept your membership renewals, with incentives for bringing new members.
The party is open to all LAPL members and a guest. More details will follow in the next week or so as we will be emailing a flyer. We've gotten some sponsorship commitments, but are seeking more.
We welcome your feedback, especially here on the blog. Help us make this the fun and productive event it can be.

While attendance was not what we hoped it would be, the 30 or so attendees enjoyed a wonderful assortment of great food and drink, great service and a perfect atmosphere for relaxing and socializing.
Many took advantage of the opportunity to renew/update their memberships, and we even had a couple of new members join at the party.
All in all, it was a marked success, and we look forward to next year's event.
